Skiresort Kühtai is just 10 km away from Gries im Sellrain. At an altitude of 2020m Kühtai is Austria’s highest skiresort. Snow guarantee until the end of April.
Hardly any queue time at the lifts!
Every Wednesday and Saturday there is night skiing from 19.30 till 22.00 hours.

Double the fun: 1 ski pass, 2 ski areas!
Double ski fun in Kühtai and Hochoetz with a single ski pass valid in both ski areas if you purchase a one-day lift ticket! Free skibus shuttle takes you from Kühtai to Hochoetz (Ochsengarten) and back again. The entire ski area boasts 24 top modern mountain lifts and 85 km of perfectly groomed ski slopes for all ability levels.

Also for snowboarders Kühtai has many to offer. A Slopestyle, Superpipe, KidsPark and a Ski-and Boardercross Track. Highlight is the huge Superpipe with 7.2m height, 160m length and 19m width (Olympic standard).

Kühtai offers free parking.
You don’t want to drive your car? The free skibus will take you from Gries im Sellrain to Kühtai in about 15 minutes.

Perfect for children and beginners is the Sonnenbergliftin Gries im Sellrain, with drag lift and magic carpet.

Snowshoe hiking

You want to experience a snowshoe hike, but you prefer not to go alone?

Two times a week guided snowshoe hikes are offered, free of charge with a valid Welcome Card(=guestcard).
Gentle ascents, steep slopes, endless trails. Breathtaking alpine scenery and uninterrupted panoramic views.
You will feel tired and happy at the same time. A snowshoe hike amid unspoilt nature creates memories that will stay with you forever.

Ski touring

Ideal starting point for ski touring in the Sellrain valley and Kühtai.

Tobogganing/Sledding

Numerous natural toboggan runs invite you, also for night tobogganing.
The most popular toboggan run our guests is in St. Sigmund. After a leisurely hike of about 30 minutes you reach the Gleirschalm, where real Tyrolean home-style food is served.
The toboggan run is lit in the winter daily from dusk to midnight, even if the Gleirschalm is not open.
We have already several times experienced a cozy tobogganing evening together with our guests.
There are also toboggan runs in Oberperfuss, Kühtai and Juifenalm.

Cross-country skiing

Cross-country ski trails (classical and skating) can be found in Gries im Sellrain, Praxmar, Lüsens and Kühtai.

Ice climbing

The Sellrain Valley offers a wide range of ice-climbing tours on various waterfalls, for beginners and for experts.
